Big Rack Strategies

1.

Prepare

Be Clean. Keep your body and clothing free from strong odors or perfumes that would deter or distract a buck. Choose a place with cover for incoming deer. Clear some shooting lanes by freeing branches or leaves out of your sightlines.

2.

Placement

Check the prevailing wind. Make sure you place scent wicks upwind of your buck. Place the scent wicks about 10 inches off the ground as this is where the animal's nose is.

3.

Application

Spray a few squirts of BIG RACK on a scent wick or cotton ball, etc.  Do not put scent on you!  After use, place them in a zip lock bag and reuse later.

Tips

Scouting and locating deer produces the most success. You can't harvest a deer, if he is not in the area. Stay away from large blow downs. These obstructions, make big bucks nervous. Do your prescouting. You need to be in deer woods. Watch for signs. Tracks, droppings, rubs on trees etc. Calling deer works well with scents.

One of my favorite ways to attract all the bucks in an area, is not to make a mock scrape but make a mock rub!

Pick an area that is a little open. Look for a single little tree, in an opening that stands out. Remember, you are are thinking like a Buck. Take a knife and scrape the tree about a foot above the ground until it shows white. Deer are attracted to white.  Now, take your knife and (behind the rub on the backside), cut upward pealing the bark off the tree but don't cut it off. Now you have a splinter curled up. Spray "BIG RACK" under this curled up bark. If it rains, it will be protected and won't wash off!

When you trim this tree, whether it be a hardwood (or what I like is a fir or softwood), It should look like an umbrella. Give it a good spraying all over especially about 1 foot off the ground - no lower - that's it! Set a camera and if no deer are on your camera, you can respray. If that first buck or doe shows up stop spraying! The deer will now scent this tree for you, and believe me, you will get multiple hits! They will follow each other.

Now you have a place to take a stand. Set a few of these and you will have many choices. Watch the wind. If it is bad, go to your other site. The best site puts your bait tree up wind of you.

Calling deer works well with scents. A soft grunt once in a while can produce a deer. Don't call to much! Every 15 minutes is enough. Also, I never hunt where deer bed down. Bust them out of their bedding area and they could leave the area altogether. Hunt them going to and from the bedding area (on the trails) and you can hunt them all month!

By choosing BIG RACK BUCK LURE, you're using the finest scent you can put your hands on! This is the real deal! Once you go "BIG RACK" you never go back! (haha!)

Shoot straight and happy hunting!
